Rotarian Gerald presents guest Cecile with her Paul Harris recognition pin |
Last evening members of the Rotary Clubs in north-western Quebec celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Rouyn-Noranda Club. Both Rotarian Jean-Charles Coutu (a former lawyer who worked in the far north of Quebec) and I had the honour of speaking to the guests. As well 2 Paul Harris recognitions were given out: one to Cecile Grenier, a very active community member and Rouyn-Noranda Rotarian Gerald Vezina.
President Cliff toasts the Club's first 60 years.
Many former Rotarians of the Club returned for the celebration; some came from as far away as Montreal. President Clifford Belanger and a number of their members spoke about looking forward with plans for the next 15 years and their 75th anniversary.
Congratulations Rouyn-Noranda!!
